Namibia bomb scare: Officer held

German police officers on patrol at Munich airport Germany has raised its terrorist-threat level after warnings of an attack

A Namibian police officer is to appear in court on charges related to planting a fake bomb on luggage which delayed a flight to Germany last week.

Namibian authorities say they are investigating whether the man - who worked in the airport's security unit - had acted alone.

The package, later identified as a test device, was made in the United States.

Germany has raised its terrorist threat level, following information of an attack planned for the end of November.

The exact charges against the police officer are not clear but Namibian authorities earlier said they would deal "severely" with anyone linked to the incident.

Local authorities have denied giving orders for a security test to be carried out at the airport, correspondents say.
